Recently a good friend passed away :( and his wife has asked me to deal with his gun collection. One of the guns he had was a Freedom Arms mini in .22 LR. Is this gun identical to the NAA mini? (Or, as I suspect, is the NAA mini identical to it?) Any idea what kind of resale value on in good shape might bring, especially if it has a low serial number? (Anyone got a copy of the Blue Book...?) We might decide to buy this one form her instead of taking it to the dealer with the rest--although if it has a high collectors value, we might not, she need$ the ca$h...
TIA

They're not identical, but they're close (and designed by the same people, I believe). The FA has a cylinder pin that's rotated for release, and does not have the firing pin rests machined between the chambers as are found on all but the newest NAAs. The NAAs are arguably better for carry, due to the firing pin rests allowing full load carry.

Unless it's serial number 1 and in pretty darn neat condition, I can't imagine it has any collector value.

You didn't mention the caliber: if it's a .22S, it's probably worth less than if it's a LR (can't recall if FA made magnums). I think a decent condition used one would retail in the $150.00 range. HTH, and sorry about the loss of your friend. :(

Casull Arms?

Hello, some of the FA derringers are stamped Casulls Improvement
Some are convertable and have spare cylinders (.22LR & .22Mag)
They were made is various barrel lengths and even a cap and ball in .22.
Three variations of grip panels and the guns are very collectable to many shooters.
The value is considerably higher than the mentioned $150.00 BTW, the gun also may have a matching belt buckle that adds to the overall value.
I recently paid $300.00 for a .22 mag version with the larger boot grips and buckle and the 1.750 barrel,it was a bargain to me!

Freedom Arms mini

I have a few of those little guns. There were some interesting accessories for them - the belt buckels they fit in are one, there was a small zippered case, there is a flip open case (like something a jeweler would use), I've seen a leather holster and there is a "pager" that the gun goes into and can be fired from inside the "pager" (these are rare). Prices run $250 to $350 for the guns, accessories add a little more to the price.

Freedom Arms Mini Revolver

The one you have is one of several made. I have the 22LR that is mounted on a brass buckle and also has a brown zippered pouch. I saw one on Gun Broker .com today for 499. it was used also. other than that most likely 150 to 200 for just the gun.
