Garmin Xero C1 Pro Dopler Radar chronograph update.

I asked the Garmin tech how many sessions it can store. He said 50 sessions with 100 shots each. It has a decent amount of memory, more than I'll use.

I think the beauty of an SD card is you can physically move the data from one device to another, if its any usable form outside the device...

It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, in a chronograph but thats why I like removable memory.

That's a lot of memory. I hope that I live long enough to fill it up!

I've just renamed all of my sessions on the app; cartridge_date_bullet. I've entered the powder charge, COL, and headstamp in the notes. I should start to record the temperature in the notes as well. I'm probably going to export the CSV files and store them in a folder in my email account in case my phone dies.

I'm probably overthinking this, but I ever want to look back I'll be able to find what I did. The Excel files will retain the session name that they got in the app.
If it's limited to 50 sessions, that will fill up quickly. A friend had one of these units at the range last week. I was using it and probably recorded 10 different sessions in half an hour. I tried 2 different types of 22 ammo out of 2 different guns and 3 different 9mm reloads out of 2 different guns. With that said the Garmin was awesome and I want to sell my Labradar and buy one.

Is it 50 sessions or 5000 shots (50 x 100)?
Good question. If the tech says 50 sessions with 100 shots each, I would assume the limit is 50 sessions but that is just a guess. Why not just say 5,000 shots if that is what it will hold?

FWIW I have over 5000 shots in 232 shot strings over 27 visits to the range with my Labradar since I last wiped the memory card in April 2022

I honestly don't know. If we download it to our phone, computer, what we have our app on then it's the amount of memory that devise has, like someone else pointed out, which could be substantial.
It stores the sessions in individual files in its hard drive.
I expect the labradar works the same way.

Then there's what can be stored on the app. Whatever it is it isn't something that can't be overcome seeing as you can download the CSV files from the app to your computer. I've also been jotting the pertinent stats on the target next to the groups.

Hmm, app/Garmin wanted me to create an account……
Garmin's account system hold on to only a modest amount of personal information. I already had an account with some of the other Garmin Product so it was easy. That said you can go to Garmin's website and see exactly what they store about you and remove a lot of it if you desire. They are very transparent about what data they are using. Its good to be wary but from years of doing business with Garmin they are one of the better companies as far as this thing goes.

Per the website spec page:

50 sessions at max 100 shots per round before a ShotView™ app sync is required to save data to phone.

The app is limited by your phones memory which even with an old phone is likely thousands of session assuming you have not filled your memory up with selfie pictures.

Got back from the range this after noon, I shot 13 more 9mm sessions and the Garmin never missed shot. As soon as I would click "end session" in the C1, the phone would have the data. :)

All 13 loads were pretty much what I expected except for one brand of powder.

My BE-86 loads were all much higher than Alliant says they are supposed to be. Like 100 fps higher. I didn't take it to Alliant's max of 5.9gr. Not going to either.
That's the first and last of the 5.7gr loads when they averaged at 1261 fps today, with a 124gr JHP. :what:

I'm very happy with the Garmin and I'm glad I paid the money to get it.
