Never trust numbers on a paper as to whether or not something will be comfortable to carry. Tiny differences in measurements often greatly affect carryability.
Agreed. I find Glocks especially misleading when looking at the numbers. They feel bigger when carrying, especially in width as they are the same width throughout.
Case in point:
CZ 75 Compact
Length: 7.24 in
Height: 5.03 in
Width: 1.38 in
Glock 19
Length: 7.36 in
Height: 5.04 in
Width: 1.18 in
I have owned both and have carried both a great deal. The CZ is hands-down no-question much more comfortable to carry IWB and feels smaller. The CZ may be wider on paper, but that's the widest point and the slide and frame contours slim it down from there. With the Glock that is not the case, especially the railed Glocks, and they rightly earn their "Blocks" moniker. However, if you have a holster that won't mold to those contours it won't matter as much, or at all.
When I first got my CHL, my Glock 17 was the only handgun I owned so I carried it. With the right belt and clothes, I can carry it without printing just fine.
However, I have since acquired a Glock 19. The fractions of an inch do make a difference, and I shoot it just as well as my G17. So the G19 has become my regular carry gun, and the G17 is my nightstand gun.
