Hello Everyone,

I had a few questions about the Glock 20's recoil spring poundages:

What is the poundage of the factory recoil spring?

What poundage of Wolff spring would you suggest for use exclusively with full power 10mm ammunition (e.g., Double Tap, Winchester Silvertip, etc.)?

How much does this really help perceived recoil as well as limiting the battering of the gun itself?

Thank you for your input.

Since the pistol was designed around full power ammunition the factory spring should not be a problem.

It certainly was not for me when I owned one.

Even with some scorchingly hot 155gr loads I cooked up for it...

The Wolff extra power spring should be OK, just do not shoot any wimpy loads and you should not have any feeding problems.

This pistol is suprisingly tough, no signs of excessive wear on the one I got rid of some years ago, despite a great deal of hot ammunition.

I used a 20 pound spring on a tungsten rod for everything from Silvertips down to .40s&w in a conversion barrel.
No problems.
The Glock spring is 17 pounds.
McNett recomends 22 for his hot ammo.
