I have come across an opportunity to purchase a like new glock 23. But I have a couple of questions about it. First off, I know Glock makes a good pistol, but has anyone had problems with the 23? and also are you happy with it? and the final question, whats the value on a like new model? Need to get a new blue book:eek:

A Glock pistol in the condition you describe would command around 500.00 US dollars +/- 50.00. The G-23 is one of the finest CCw's on planet Earth and asking a question such as have you ever had problems with it is problematic of itself. The odds are long indeed that you, in your lifetime, could ware one out. Go for it!

Depends on where you are. You can easily get lightly used Glocks here (Mountain West, USA) for ~ $400. I have 2 23s. Fantastic guns. Use factory jacketed ammo and you'll likely never have any issues.

Some here will likely point out the various stories of .40 caliber Glocks going "Kaboom!" Search glock kaboom or kb and you'll get a bunch of threads to read. :D

edit: this should get you started

I'm not a Glock fan. But I must agree. They're tough, accurate, and reliable. You'll be hard pressed to find another pistol more so by any meaningful amount.

Thanks guys for your input, I havn't decided if I will purchase it yet, plus I think my dad kinda wants it, so I might purchase it for him

VERY happy with my G23

No problems with mine. MSRP is $599.99 in most parts.

It's a good CCW pistol.

The only thing is the compact size, be ready for a nice recoil. The only REAL problem I have is running out of ammo. Also, make sure your hand fits the compact frame size.

Go get one!

About $500 new and $350-$400 for a used Gen 3 is what you should expect.

Congrats on the G23. It's my primary CCW piece.

And just tune out all the Glock haters. Most have never even shot one. :D

i like glocks in 9mm, but any other caliber and i am just not a fan. if you get a good deal than go for it and try it out yourself, i don't want to try and talk you out of it. but for me, one of the things i look for in a gun is something that is not oly accurate, reliable, but also fu to shoot, and for me glocks in anyother caliber than 9mm is just o fun to shoot.

My Standard Carry gun is a Glock 23 and I think it is pretty much the perfect weapon for daily use. Small enough to be concealable and at the same time reliable and durable.

Glocks best offering(IMO) Get a 9mm conversion barrel and you got a 19 for a $100:D Can find a gen 3 used for $400-450

If you like .40 S&W you'd be hard pressed to find a better gun in that caliber. I got mine used (previous owner had it for 2 weeks and it looked unfired) for $475.

Good gun. I believe it is one of the guns FBI agents get to choose from out of the academy.

A friend carries one everyday, he likes it. The .40 isn't my slice of pie, but they're great guns.

Nice handgun. I have owned mine for over 10 yrs and enjoy shooting it despite having the glock trigger. Recoil is snappy but very very acceptable. If I am not mistaken you can also drop a .357 sig barrel in the 23 as well. Going price around here for used is around $435-$475, depending on condition and any options like night sights.

I also have a 27 and a 19 and prefer the 23 to both of them.

G23 is great as already described. Really like it in .40, plus easy to convert to 9mm or .22LR.

Here in the Pacific NW a used Glock like a police turn in with night sights would go for about $425 - $450. New ones are about $500, so a like new without night sights would probably be n the same $425 - $450, maybe less.

Glock is one of the few pistols I would be willing to buy used.

I really like my G23. But, if you can, try a Sig P229 in .40 S&W. Oh my!!!! It felt awesome!

Finding a certified preowned P229 would also be a serious contender.
