Good gun shop in Wisconsin?

My buddy is around Portage, WI and is looking for a gun shop with good prices to start picking up some guns. Any suggestions on fair places in that area?

Any help is appreciated. (He drives truck nationally so can't browse around really).

I don't live near Portage, but if he has a Fleet Farm nearby that is one of the first places I would check. Their prices are always very good and they have very good customer service.

I'm a 3 hr drive from Portage area, but before the recent panic buying set in Scheel's in Eau Claire had the best inventory, fair to great prices and surprisingly knowledgeable gun dept. sales staff. I did notice their shelves are showing more bare spots than inventory on my most recent stop there though.

Thanks Plodder. Unfortunately the low inventory and bare shelves are kind of the norm right now all across the country.

I'm in SE Wisconsin, but have been to Scheels and it's a nice store with good selection and fair prices. We do have a Cabela's in western WI and also in the Milwaukee area.
