Okay well earlier i made a post about the 12fv savage arms rifle. Well when i went to this other store they showed me a ruger mini 14 and i love it. MY question is though which is better? Something else is i saw one video of the ruger mini 14 and it looked like it could be bolt action which is what i like? is it true you could switch it?

Not sure what this means. If you liked the Mini-14, then get a Mini-14. It's a semi-automatic rifle. You may be able to disable the gas system so that you'd have to physically operate the charging handle for each shot.

That would be like taking two wheels off your car because you really wanted a motorcycle.

If you like bolt-action rifles, then you'll need to look at something else.

Maybe you could say a little more about what you want out of a rifle so we could advise you more completely.

"Which is better" is, again, not a question that CAN be answered. The Savage bolt-action will be a lot more accurate. The Mini-14 will be more compact, and allow you to fire more rounds quickly. What do you want the gun to do?

Which is better? Do you want to spray and pray? Get the Mini. If you want to save you empties, have a great chance for out of the box accuracy, get the Savage.

All depends on what you want. The minis have not been noted for gilt edged accuracy. Savages, of late, have been great performers.
