I stopped by Kentucky Gun Company on my way home today and wanted to check out a Tristar copy of the CZ75. They had an L120 there that I checked out. I was surprised that it was as light as it was. It seemed to handle pretty sweet and fit my hand good. I've heard good things about the Tristar/Canick guns. Does anyone have the L120? If so what do you think of it. The price was $336.00. If they are good, I'll go back and pick it up.

Thanks

I've heard good things about it too. The price seems fair. I saw a Canik Stingray at Gander Mountain and they were asking over $430 for it.

I'd rather have it in the steel frame version.
I was never much for aluminum framed pistols.

If I bought one I'd send it to Cajun Gun Works for a more curved trigger that sits back in the trigger guard more, and for steel sights.

These Turkish CZ clones have an excellent reputation and seem to give more then your moneys worth.
I'd just rather have the steel T120 rather then the aluminum L120

Th L120 is an excellent value and come with 17 round mags. They shoot well but you may have to drift the back sight for windage, mine was a little off from the factory. They also come with two mags (Mec Gar) and a foam lined plastic case. Their guns are built to NATO specs and have undergone a 50,000 round

Also, the sights are steel and attract a magnet, I just double checked mine to be sure. So far so good on my L120. Downside is they're different enough that most CZ parts don't interchange.

One thing though, the Walther PPX is going very cheap right now. It's around $300 and despite being pretty different from the gun you asked about, it's also an excellent buy on a budget. It comes with two 16 round mags, a foam lined plastic case, one of the best triggers I've ever felt, and Walther warranties them for life. Just tossing another option out there.

My brief review of the L120:

I've put quite a few rounds through it now and it has been an extremely positive experience so far.

I have the P120 with the steel frame (CZ 75Sp01 clone). Great shooter, came with 2 19 round Mecgar mags. I put a spring set in from CGW and a set of sights. The trigger is pretty good now. Like it allot!

Thanks much. It won't be my primary weapon, unless I change my mind. Just looking for a full size 9MM in a CZ type platform for fun. I doubt I could ever wear out the Aluminum frame as I don't shoot every weekend. Just some fun on the farm and something different from my glock 23 and pocket pistol.

I took a chance on the Canik L120 because of the price, and it's been great. The recoil on it is negligible and it's as accurate as anything else I own.I have hundreds of rounds through it without a single malfunction. I did change the grips to Hogue rubber grips as the plastic ones that came with it were too slippery of me. For $336 I don't think you can go wrong.
