OK, guys here's a question to ponder.
What is your choice between the M38 Swede Carbine (6.5x55 Swede) and the Swiss K-31 carbine (7.5x55 Swiss, .308 dia. bullet).
And feel free to post pictures. Here's mine:
Shoot! I gotto find my M38 pics.

Probably the K31. You get a faster firing rate, out of the box excellent accuracy (not to say swedes aren't accurate) and a six round mag.

I'd go with the Swede because I'm a fan of Mausers in general. The 6.5 is a nice hunting round as well. I'm probably fonder of 7 Mauser but that 6.5 is no slouch.

I won 8 rifles in 6.5x55mm. I used to own one K-31 which I sold.
Hand-loading components are much easier to find for the 6.5x55. Plus even here in my small town I can buy factory hunting ammo in 6.5 Swede. I have never seen 7.5 Swiss on the shelves. Plus the K-31s do not fit my body and I do not like the straight pull bolt.
Not to mention the historical combat use of the 6.5 Swede (Finland and on UN duty) compared to the non-combat use of the Swiss rifles.

I have 3 K31 s and one carl gustav (the very long one ) and when I go to the range it is usualy the Swede%
that come along

I have both and both are very accurate. I would go for the K31 only because of its match grade surplus ammunition - you can get GP11 for around 50 cents per round.
