Morning,

I need a little help with my 1858 Remington 36 caliber.
I messed up the screw holding the hand to the hammer. I got the replacement parts from Taylors. I'm having a difficult time lining up the new hand with the new hammer. It seems the new hammer doesn't sit far back enough in the frame to allow me to screw the hand into the hammer. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Gary

Gary,

Where in South Florida do you live? I am in Bonita Springs. It may be a simple fix like removing a small amount of metal on the rear of the hammer, but I would need to look at it to know where. Is the old hammer FUBAR? Can you line up the pivot holes on old and new hammer and see if there is extra metal?
PM me if you want to have me look at it.
