I use a laser boresighter when I mount scopes. I can get a distance of 25-30 feet in the basement. Where do I need to have the crosshairs at that distance to be able to go out and be on paper at 100 yards??? I went with three inches high, but I"m still way off. Any help with the math would be appreciated. Thank you.

this depends on, well, a lot of stuff. What cartridge? Height of sights above bore? etc...

I would expect them to be an inch or so below at 25 yds to be near on at 100 yds. You can check some of the on-line ballistic programs to get closer. Sorry I don't have links-maybe somebody else will add some.

Laser boresighter? I still use the remove the bolt and look down the barrel trick with the fire one, keep rifle still, adjust reticle until it is over hole in paper trick.

For semi auto, well, there's always the 25 yard line. :D
