Help with choosing a .22 Auto Pistol!!!

I am looking at either:

Ruger Mark 1, High Standard Dura-Matic 101, or the Sig Mosquito.

The Ruger and the High Standard are pistols that I have easy access to and can get a good deal on. The only reason I am considering the Sig is my wife likes it a lot and may want to shoot with me more.

I know there are better guns out there and that I could get an updated version of the Ruger, but I need to keep the cost at $300. The Sig would be the most expensive at $299.

I don't know much about the Ruger or the High Standard and was wondering if ya'll could help with the pros and cons of each of the three guns.

Forget the Sig, the other two are better guns.

The Ruger is a good gun. It is also currently in production, in an updated form. That provides parts support if something does go wrong. Mostly they never break.

High Standards have a good rep, particularly the older ones. I don't have any personal experience with them.

Don't have any experience with the Mosquito, but what I hear isn't favorable.

I have the SIG and...

The SIG is good for training if you get a deal on it. I was in a lock between the Walther P-22 and the SIG Mosquito. A friend at work hated his SIG and slod it to me for $200 - he fired it for about 150 rnds and got fed up. It comes with a heavy and light spring - he had the heavy installed. I installed the light spring and tried about 5 kinds of ammo. The best by far is the CCI Mini Mag but that is about the most expensive fior the .22's (double the standart stuff). I even tried different ammo with equal or higher velocities but nothing runs like the CCI's. The DA trigger sucks - the SA is heavy too but who cares. I use mine to warm up before going to "full caliber". Ergos are fantastic. I like it because it gives feedback in the form of a little recoil and is fairly accurate to 15 or 20 yds. I have had success with some cheaper Federal classic ammo so I'll keep using it. I hear they are less picky after a couple thousand rounds. I've got about a thousand through mine. I also am using this to teach my wife. It functions like a defense pistol and doesn't intimidate.

Don't pay full price. With as many people getting rid of these and the low demand, you can probably find a good deal with someone ready to cut their losses.

Take it for what it is...a cheap gun for plinking that is worth it for the right price.

I'll keep mine for fun but I AM on the lookout for a Buckmark for targeting.
