Hi everyone, so I am considering purchasing a Hi Point c9 for a target pistol. I have heard lots of mixed reviews about hi points, and I would like to hear from anyone who has used one before about what your experience was like with them. I have a very tight budget, and basically my decision is either buy a hi point or no gun at all. I already have a S&W .357 mag for self defense, I'm just looking for a 9mm to use at the range, and I'm not concerned with the weight of the gun or how ugly it is. Please don't post if you haven't shot one before.

Smoov,

They are very good guns (especially at that price), and I'd definitely go for it. However, if money is so tight, ammo cost ($10 @ box) might be a bit expensive for ya.

I have a c9 hi-point. The ONLY problems I have had were due to the magazine feed lips needing adjusted. It caused a feed issue, but it didn't happen all the time. Once adjusted to specs, no problems at all. Reliable? yes.
Durable? yes (see u tube videos for proof) Cheap? Oh heck yes! Warranty? Very much so! send in a used one and they fix it! Accurate? Yes. (also consider the barrel length) ALso it helps to clean and shine the feed ramp, that way you don't have to bump the slider forward on a full magazine.
They are made cheap, but built solid. A few litttle tweaks (where they saved some $$ making it) And you have a fun relaible shooter. Would I trust my life with it? Yes. But to bulky for a carry pistol. Nice little truck pistol, have mine here at the desk too.
