It seems many of the grip designs are attempting an ever higher grip on the backstrap, but the trigger remains at a much lower distance below the slide. I understand the point of a higher grip mitigating muzzle flip, but does anyone find this awkward at a certain point? Instead of pulling the trigger straight back, it seems to result in a more upward trigger pull. I have noticed it also can lead to the finger to be placed higher on the trigger itself, which can be an issue with fully depressing the drop safety tab on the trigger if you have thin fingers.
With regard to point shooting, the old method of pointing your trigger finger at the target becomes more like pointing your thumb at the target with this type of grip position. I guess one can adjust to such things with practice but I thought it might be interesting to discuss this a bit.
