I need some opinions from people who have or have shot a HK 45USP CT. I'm going to the LGS tomorrow afternoon to either buy or put one on layaway. I've been thinking about getting one for months but have never seen one in person until today at the shop and think I better grab it! Never owned an HK but heard alot of good stuff about them and I've only shot one, a usp 40, and it was nice. They're asking $1,019. Any opinions? Thanks.

If you really truly intend to suppress it, then I say go for it. It's one of the best suppressor-ready European .45s on the market. The only downside is that the sights aren't tall enough to clear a suppressor. I have no idea why these companies do this; SIG does it too!

Of course, if you do not intend to suppress this pistol then I'd say save the $300 and find a lightly used USP 45c instead.

Compact Tactical or CT as in Connecticut, or crimson Trace??

I have the compact, and have put a couple thousand rounds through mine. I am also a reloader and go through abour 5-6,000 rounds of .45 acp a year. The compact needs almost full powder loads and likes the heavier bullets in slightly reduced loads to function reliably. That being said its a great gun and prior to owning an Elite and a compact, I was a dedicated 1911 fan. The USP series is the only gun that can give the 1911 a run for its money in .45 Acp, and I have owned and shot just about all of the other SIG and Polymer .45's.

Thanks for the replies guys but i just got back from the range/store and rented the pistol before I made a purchase and really didn't care for it a whole lot. Mainly the trigger and the magazine release. I didn't think I'd mind the mag release and actually thought ud prefer it after trying it, but it wasn't so. I have a FN FNP-45 that I absolutely LOVE so i think ill wait for the fnx-45 compact tactical to come out a pick that one up. I put $700 down on a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry instead.
