I own an Aimpoint Micro and love the sight. Nothing else like it
I respectfully disagree with the concept of "never spending more on an optic than I do on the weapon". To me the rifle is just a bullet launching platform. More and more frequently I am seeing accurate rifles available at reasonable cost (Check CDNN's prices on I bolts!). The optic is what connects it to your target and good glass is not as often discounted. I have often put Trijicon scopes on second hand super accurate Savage rifles to great effect.
However, if you don't want to allocate $ 400 + for an optic this site has M-3 and M-4 "clones" starting under $ 70.00 that are very well regarded on Ar-15.com and M4carbine.net. He is about to get in a supply of Micro clones For $100 that I will try as a sight on my 10/22.
