Hey, congrats! Great pix. I saved them and I'm going to use them as wallpaper...

First one is of "My Neighborhood."

Calm Seas And Prosperous Voyage, Arfin !

Welcome to Idaho ArfinGreebly

Nice picture of Mt. Rainier from Reflection Lake DawgFvr.
I watched a Osprey catch a trout there once.

LET'S NOT AND SAY WE DID.

Sorry, I am tired of having out of staters moving into Idaho and then bitching about shooting. I have had the cops called because of the range at my folks house, by a liberal from Washington. (The cop thought it was a really nice range and asked to use it) I am really tired of new people hunting on the ground I grew up hunting on. What I will do is grant you a week pass.

I am not saying you will complain, but lots of people move to Idaho who shoot but are in search of piece and quiet and tranquility, and when the neighbor opens up with his .470 Nitro or .458 Win, they get mad at the noise.

Just my rant for the day.

That is all.......

Now you know how we feel here in Florida!

Hey Arfin...

If there's any ...Uhhhh... "hardware" that you don't have room for in the moving truck, I'll be happy to baby sit it for ya for an indefinite period. :D

Yeah, I second that

States closed! We've reached our import quotas for the Millenium!
All the Californians that have been forced North due to a vanishing border end up in our little corner of the country. :fire: I tried to start a rumor that it rains 364 days a year, but they kept coming. Yeah I used to camp in Idaho and trek into Wyoming. Love both states. Of course, my native Washington is not exactly without it's outdoor splendor. Beautiful pics. Welcome to the Great NW!

Um, have you heard about the caldera starting to bulge under Yellowstone? Gonna be a big badaboom one a these days!:what:

I'll stay in Oklahoma, thanks.

Well, the invitation was made. Now if you are far enough north, I will step over the line and pay you a visit, but you have to be well into the Pacific Time zone for that.

I don't visit much of the mountain time part of Idaho.

ArfinGreebly - I tried like heck to get to that class this year. All here in ID. man I missed my chance.
Unfortunately I had to put the $800 in to a vehicle repair. :-(

Idaho is on my short list as well, when I am done with school. Kids are grown, no family to speak of other than the kids. And I promise I won't complain about the noise. I live near a range right now, and it is like music to my ears.

Not only "guess the caliber", but also guessing the shooter's position. With deer season on, that's a giveaway for the deer's whereabouts too.:D

MR. WHITE - "Is it true that ID has a LOT of good public land for hunting?"

Yep, surely is.

Millions of acres. If you get a State map of Idaho, just look at the gigantic National Forests, Wilderness areas, State Forests, etc, in all parts of the State..

Arfin, great pictures. Welcome to Idaho.

Uh, so how many people from this board do you think would complain about shooting.

Maybe that you were shooting without inviting them...

Yeah I don't think even liberals here will complain about shooting. They might however move there and decide to support legislation for nanny state benefits and non gun related "common sense" reforms that they miss from thier home state that will increase your taxes, and eventualy lead to a mindset that brings you a bit closer to where they came from.
Thier kids and grandkids raised with that mindset may theen feel differently, even about shooting.
The kind that frequently say "They need a law..."

The whole Cascadia area is wonderful (though I have my reservations about King Co. Washington). Get much the same country and animals across the western border and no income tax (just like Nevada):
[Unfortunately, my photo from last week of over 20 deer next to the Kettle River is too large to upload. My apologies and regrets.]

Yup... oughta be a law against it.:scrutiny:
