Old habits are hard to break. 40 years ago I was an armorer for the Army. Any weapon in my arms room showing dirt, powder, corrosion, rust was worth a stripe taken from my sleeve. At the same time my duty station was more in the nature of show troops than combat (Berlin). Worked then, works now. Time taken to maintain weapons is the hour before they are put away. This is everytime without fail. That is the only way I know to insure that they work every time without fail when they are most needed.
