How often do you clean your carry gun?

I've shot 700-800 rounds in a few one-day courses that didn't allow any cleaning time. All my Glock's functioned just fine.

I don't worry about excess cleaning.

Old habits are hard to break. 40 years ago I was an armorer for the Army. Any weapon in my arms room showing dirt, powder, corrosion, rust was worth a stripe taken from my sleeve. At the same time my duty station was more in the nature of show troops than combat (Berlin). Worked then, works now. Time taken to maintain weapons is the hour before they are put away. This is everytime without fail. That is the only way I know to insure that they work every time without fail when they are most needed.

Depends.

Always after shooting. Several times a week it will get a function check and general wipe down.

Generally I clean mine after ever range trip no matter how many rounds I shoot. BUT. I just bought a bunch of Winchester WinClean ammo, and after last weekend's range trip I pulled the gun apart and it was SPOTLESS! So I threw it back together without cleaning it. Aside from the fact that I don't like breathing lead, I think the slightly higher price is worth it just for how clean the gun stays.

After shooting it. If I don't shoot for over a month, I punch out the barrel with some patches and lightly lube it, no intense cleaning though.
