My fiance used to be an Anti Gun Democrat.
No one should own a gun, blah blah blah. You all know the routine here.

Over time she has started to soften her view on firearms and has recently made the comment that she is glad I carry a firearm in public and have one next to my bed.

Last night she really shocked me when she commented on ho much she liked the looks of my Kimber Pro Carry. This lead to her asking questions about it and turned into a 3 hour long process of showing her how a firearm works, the basics of safety, etc. She had a heck of a time loading a magazine at first but kept at it till you could get it right. Range trip next week

I was especially surprised when she said she wants a .45. She thought the .40 and especially the .38 Was to small.

Let her try your Kimber. If she likes it, maybe you can arrange a purchase of a "his and hers" set. Nice wedding gift to each other.

I ain't particularly prone to buying guns 'cause they're pretty. I'm more caught up in function. That said, if she is enamored of the beauty of a Kimber, it can only be a Good Thing and lead to more Good Things.

It seems you are truly blessed to have as a future spouse a woman who will examine facts, even if they conflict with her previously held beliefs, and make changes in her beliefs to accommodate the facts.

Good on her. She deserves a huge thanks as it is often truly difficult to just change opinions mid-stride, let alone the issue of overcoming pride as it relates to changing a firm stance. She is a great lady and you are a lucky man.

there's a cute girl who comes by the gun show in Austin....too bad she has a b/f though although he doesnt really seem to care about her lol. anyway i thought it was funny cuz she's a bigger gun freak than him....ive never seen a female (not current or former military) see an M249SAW and run to it like it was something on sale at Victoria's Secret she even knew what it was...which is better than the dudes at Dallas Market Hall (some guy asked if it was an AK-47)....

My wife went through the same process. Grew up in a home without guns, absorbed all the "Guns R Bad" material from the MSM, and was pretty apprehensive about them when we were first married, though she was reassured at times by the fact that I had a handgun. Then she got an opportunity to handle a Glock 17, and decided "You know, I don't like guns, but if I did, I'd want one like that." She eventually got a Glock 26 and a CCW permit...

That's excellent advice. I have a Kimber model 1911 and .22 caliber slide and magazines. It's a dandy gun.
