I just recieved a 1930's Winchester Model 52...

I was given a Winchester Model 52 .22 cal. rifle from my grandfather. It was his first gun and I would like to get it back into working condition.

Currently the sights are gone but the bolt and everything are in place. I know absolutely nada about these types of guns.

Is there anyone that can help to let me know what I may need to do to fin the parts that I will need to get it back into working condition???

Thank you in advance! I want to get it working again before my grandpa passes as it was his first gun given to him from his father.

Congradulations on the great rifle. I have one that was my late fathers. It was given to him (brand new) by his godfather when he was born. It is by far the most accurate rifle, of any caliber or configuration that I own. With a cheap, 25 yo, Tasco 3-9x32 scope, it'll shoot 1 clean hole at 25 yards. And a raged hole at 50 yards. Somewhere around .25 MOA, all this with bulk Winchester Wildcat ammo. I've even won some money from a friend with it.

I have a couple other old .22s that might could compete with it. But they don't have scopes, and aren't going to be getting them, so it's hard to compare them.

Enjoy the gun. It can truely be said that "they don't make them like that anymore!"

I had to buy my 1930s era Winchester 52. They are great rifles. Mine likes any 40 grain .22 load.
