lol...this sounds surprisingly similar to my wife. She has always shot a little with me from time to time, but never really got as excited about it as me. She has always been a natural though...
Well, about a month ago I finally found and ordered my first revolver. It was a Smith and Wesson 686 Competitor from their performance center.
Pic of gun for reference... (taken just after first shooting, so still a little dirty)
I took it out and got it sighted in and then we went out and decided to shoot a little. We were only shooting .38 special as that's what I had plenty of. So, we're shooting some, I believe, 16 oz. water bottles full of water. We get down to our last 3 bottles (two 16oz bottles and one 2 liter bottle). She says "Hey, let's play a game. We each get a 16 oz bottle. We'll take turns shooting at the 16 oz bottles and whoever comes closest to knocking the cap off of their bottle gets to shoot the last bottle." I smile and agree. She tells me to go first...
We decided to shoot at 30 yards (we had been shooting the other bottles at 20 yards). So we mark it off and I shoot and hit my bottle right at the base of the neck, so about an inch from the cap...I thought was a decent shot considering. So, she lines up, and takes her first shot. After the proverbial smoke clears...this is what we see...
She shot the bloody cap off and left the bottle full to the neck with water still standing. As my jaw drops, she just bursts out laughing. Demands my phone (I have the only smart phone) and immediately takes a picture (the one above) and uploads it to her facebook, where I still haven't heard the end of it...
Another positive upside to this is she is finally finishing her concealed carry paperwork. She took her class probably a year ago, she just never finished the paper work to turn in to get her permit. She now has gotten the paper work and is turning everything in. She's also picked out an airweight J-frame S&W that she wants to get for carry. She's been researching holsters and all that jazz as well. I think she is leaning towards a "flashbang" holster? At least I think that's what she called it. She told me it hooks to your bra, to which I responded "Sounds like a good a place as any..."
Long story short...it is quite fun when the wife gets involved in the action...even when she puts you to shame with a single shot...hehe.
