might as well confess before spiffy calls me out...

I melted my ssg..

Yes I was too cheap, too lazy to use a bore guide....

Solvent dripped...

Trigger guard melted like margaret hamilton in front of Judy garland!

Called the Steyr parts people...they had none!!! lucky for me they had one the stash at the importer (pretty nice folk when you can get em to answer the phone)..

Moral of the story...if it takes out copper, its hazardous to skin, plastic and other living things!

The importer charged me $30..I got two on order from Austria as spares at $35 each..

The stuff I used was Mpro....the "safe stuff"...

Baby is put back together now...but no loads!!!!

I did that to a set of grips on a Beretta Tomcat. Also blanched a P225 grip white with some Gunscrubber. Now I always that the grips off.

Wild, you need to add a weelittlebit of powder, which should help tighten that group up vertically.
