I'm looking at turret presses...Have questions

The Information about the different turret presses has been a big help. For the calibers I'll be loading, mostly pistol, the Lee Classic might be the place to start. I'd rather load the .308 and .270 on the single stage press and don't shoot them as much as the pistols. I can get the most consistant rounds using the single stage press and trickle charging the cases. I've got an older RCBS press and the Lee changallenger. I resize with the heaver RCBS and seat bullets with the Lee...works pretty good. Both do a good job of seating the primer. Right now I'm weighing each charge. If I'm charging close the recommended starting charge and I'm off a .10g it doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, I'll spend some more time sorting through the information in this thread before I make a final decision....Thanks again

Mcdonl, thanks for clearing that up

Your post #23 cleared up my confusion over your post #17 in which you seemed to indicate a dislike for the Classic Turret, not the Deluxe.

The Lee Classic Turret comes only in a 4-hole (4 dies station) version. It is made of cast iron base and aluminum turrets.

The Lee Deluxe Turret originally came as a 3-hole version. It's base is aluminum with aluminum turrets.

The Lee Deluxe Turret now comes as a 4-hole turret press. It's base is still aluminum with aluminum turrets.

An upgrade kit will convert the Lee Deluxe Turret (either 3-hole or 4-hole versions as well as the Pro-1000 progressive) into a 4-hole deluxe turret.

Clearly, Lee's naming conventions could use some improvement. Bmac1949, the "Lee Classic" is an aluminum frame single stage press. The Lee Classic Cast is an iron single stage press.

Very good point.

I have recently purchased a Lee Classic Turret. It only has a few hundred rounds under it's belt, but I love it. I moved up from my single stage, I looked at others, but couldn't handle the idea of manual indexing of the turret. I like RCBS rock-chucker, but didn't like the turret press.
