I just talked with Phil at Odell Engineering in Canada, and he has some .357 sig barrels for drop in use on the M40, he has a few in stock, for $150 each.
his prices on magazines arent as good as i expected, $38 is the price he quoted on all magazines.
Phil said his newest product catalog from Steyr shows MSRP of $574 euros for the M series. He can get the S series for an estimated cost of $525 us and import it, according to him anyways.
but the most interesting thing Phil had to say is that Steyr's latest catalog doesnt list the M357 anymore, but seems to have been replaced with a M9x21, in addition to the M40 and M9(parabellum).

is it legal to have a gun imported from canada to your ffl? i thought we could only buy from local sources.

oh yeah, and in case you're wondering, the rear sight doesnt like to be banged against a door frame accidentally. i noticed last night while i was dryfiring that the sights looked crooked. turns out the right arm of the rear sight broke off, just to the white line.

i then remembered the day before i cut a corner too close and my M40 being carried IWB at 4:30 slammed into the door frame. i didnt check it out then, but i should have. replacement sights (i remember someone wanting to buy them) are $40 from Odell Engineering.

phil said there was no change in the status of finding a full fledged importer. i believe Dynamit Nobel is picking up Steyr rifles, but nothing for the handguns.

but if it is legal to have him import from canada to individuals stateside, thats better than nothing. the funny thing is that the S series arent legal in canada, but he has imported them to other countries.

From what I know, Steyr pistols are handled exclusively by Zanders Sporting goods (GZS) for US import and distribution.
