Oh, wow. Grab some popcorn, because "who knew what and when did they know it" is about to sink some careers spectacularly...because even in these times nobody in Administration ever gets arrested for actions like this, even when people die.

I really hope Issa has the fortitude to carry this through. We all know this went all the way to the top, but some lower level lowlifes will wind up taking the fall and it will fade away as usual.

Well, "jfrey," we actually don't know just how high up this thing goes..
As one of a handful of journalists hounding this story, I honestly cannot say who did what, who knew what and when, and who did what and why?

What we DO know is that there has been a serious attitude of uncooperativeness involved here.

I got into journalism back in the Watergate days. What is clear to me is that in all those years, government types haven't learned a thing. When you do something wrong, you can't successfully cover it up by ignoring it, especially when the press starts chomping at your Fruit of the Looms.

I've been telling politicians for years: "You screw up, you're going to get caught. Don't try to lie to the press, they'll catch you."

I can say this. I'm grateful for folks like you who care enough to pay attention to stuff like this. I'm just the messenger. You guys make things happen.

If you are right, and this goes to the top, then history will ultimately record that Dick Nixon didn't have anything on these guys. Nobody got killed because of Watergate. Two federal civilian peace officers and who knows how many Mexican citizens have been killed because of this? I'm not sure I really want to know the answer to that one.

When this thing reaches a boil, it would be the perfect time to try to finally ram through the BATFE reform act.
