I bought a Browning Stainless Stalker .223 Rem and the feather trigger was awful; the lightest pull I could get was 4.5 lbs. regardless if the trigger pull weight screw was completely backed out. So I ordered the JARD trigger ($247.50 + $7.45 shipping), the only aftermarket manufacture that makes a trigger for the Xbolt. I ordered the 16-22 oz. version but it broke at 29 oz. at the lightest setting. I called JARD and ordered a 6-12 oz. spring and when it arrived in one week apparently it is the same spring because it broke at 30 oz. on my trigger gauge. I emailed JARD on a Sat since they are closed on Sat and followed my email up with a phone call and was told I had to adjust the sear engagement. I explained that apparently they sent me the same spring that I already had. He went on and on about the sear engagement etc., so I just said "thanks for nothing" and terminated the call. Does anyone out there have an Xbolt Jard trigger that adjusts down to 6-12 oz.? At this point I guess I'm stuck with the expensive trigger. I sure wish Jewell would make a trigger for the Xbolt.

I have an X-Bolt and they are really purpose-built as hunting rifles as opposed to bench guns. Browning says the trigger should adjust down to #3, mine went to #2 3/4. That's as light as I would ever want in a hunting rifle. Since yours will not make #3, I would consider that a warranty issue. Did you contact Browning?

I get the idea that you're looking to make a bench gun out of this since you're trying to get to 16-22 ounces. That's much to light for a field rifle. Maybe you need to look for something more suited for the bench.

No, I'm not looking for a bench rest rifle; I have been hunting for over 50 years, varmints, deer, pigs and elk etc. I am quite comfortable with a 12 oz. trigger even in my big game rifles. I guess it is to each his own.
