For the pencil test, I simply put a pencil with the eraser-end facing the firing pin and pull the trigger after the slide has been racked correct? So does this test whether the original firing pin is working?

Second, the decocker seems to be a potential problem when carrying this weapon cocked and locked according to makarov.com. Is there nothing that can be done to make the decocker work effectively 100% of the time? I am not sure where the notch is, but makarov.com never posted what the exact problem is.

"Indeed the decocker raises the firing pin disengage and what stops the hammer from falling appears to be an intercept notch. If this is worn, the firing pin plunger in the slide may or may not stop the firing pin from striking the primer when decocking. Other guns, such as the Makarov have a cam from the safety move directly in the hammer's way. We have yet to rip apart the pistol and determine what causes this. In the mean time please be careful about decocking the pistol with a round in the chamber and do not rely on this mechanism to safely decock the CZ-52!" -makarov.com

Third, I am definitely buying an aftermarket firing pin. What I am not sure about is the trigger enhancement. After doing a search on here, someone mentioned that this feature would render the decocker useless (i.e. so dangerous that it should never be used). Is this true? Is the trigger enhancement a safe add-on?

Fourth, how do I decock the pistol if I am not supposed to use the decocker for the time being?

Fifth, what do yall think about getting the Wolff recoil spring and what does would this spring do as to improvements for the pistol?

Sorry for the lengthy post.

Ease the Hammer down using either the decocker or the trigger, just as you would a handgun without a decocker.

That said, it is a SA pistol and should be carried C&L.

But congrats, the VZ-52 is a great pistol. I love mine.
