Hi all. Just wondering what difference there is between the two models. Kahr's site mentions a beveled magazine well, but that seems to be it. Does that make a real difference? Just wondering if it's worth the extra outlay (and risk of trying a relatively new model).

It seems that, for the same price as a 2003, I can get a 98 with night sights, so unless there's some sort of glaring deficiency with the 98 models, I may go with one of them.

I cannot answer your question in a definite way but I purchased the elite
2003 and it is a very nice gun, great trigger, accurate, In my opinion when
Kahr has problems with certain models they upgrade change model numbers and continue to sell older models and repair under warranty
as needed. I had heard of very few problem with the 2003 elite my
reasoning for coming up with the extra dollars. I also like there pm9
however it seems to be hit or miss with the polymer frames so i will
wait on that one.

I've a MK40/98 that I bought used. Since I've had it, I've had no problems with whatever I've done with it, fed it, lubed it with. Far as I can tell, the extra "5" only gets you a modified mag well, and a different number engraved on the side.
