I was happy enough with my first PM9 that I bought another a year later. The first one had a couple FTEs in the first hundred rounds but has been flawless since then. I've never had a problem with the second.
However, my brother also bought a PM9 about a month ago and the first time he went out to shoot it (I was with him), after about 50 rounds the pin that holds the side panel walked out, causing the trigger bar to jam against the side of the slide. He's going to send it back for service.
Love my PM9! I ordered extra 7 rd. mags which I find improve the overall grip feel by giving you a pinky rest. This pistol has one of the best triggers I've ever felt on a semi. Outstanding shooter. Mine was one of the barrel recalls also, so I sent it in just "in case". Fed flawlessly before and after the recall work, which looks like it was just a barrel throating and some feed ramp sanding. PM9 gets an A+ in my book.
My PM9 I bought in December 2002 had some FTF trouble but Kahr fixed it. It has been 100% since then and it is with me always. I've had to sell many pistols recently, another story, but my PM9 is not for sale.
My PM9 is great.
I just put one of those Hogue rubber grip sleeves on it and it helped the feel so much.
I added a Pearce Grip extension on the six round magazine. This little pistol is now perfectly comfortable for me.
Buy it. It's smaller than a J-frame S&W. You have two extra rounds and it's accurate as heck.
I wonder if anyone makes a reliable 10-round magazine for the little Kahrs?
It would be nice to have one as a spare.
My PM9 has been reliable. It also was part of the barrel recall. I sent my barrel and slide to Kahr for the barrel recall and also had them install Meprolight nite sights. They didn't charge me to install them. The sights cost $59. This was a really good move. As to the barrel, it worked the same before and after being fixed. This gun is a go-anywhere, carry-all-the-time gun. I can do front pocket in Levis with it. You can almost forget you have it with you. Also, it has a great trigger.
YES! I love my PM9 & I carry it nearly everyday.
The only thing I would do different if I were to get another is get the DLC maybe nite sites . Mine has several hundred rounds of mixed loads through it with "0" malf.
My pistol seems to prefer +P's.
I have found it to be a tad large for pocket carry for my typical choice of clothes. But it can be done....
