I don't own the Ken Waters "Pet Loads" book, but was wondering if someone could pass on some of his pet loads for a fast, 50grn bullet 222 rem load. Thanks!

The original 1968 article listed 50 grain Sierra bullet. Most accurate load was 22.0 grains HP-102 powder with Sacmag primer (huh?).
21.0 grains No. 4198 was a good all-around load with Rem No. 6-1/2 primer. 3230 feet per second.
Also listed 22.0 grains 3031 with Rem 6-1/2 primer and same grains of HP-102 (?) with Sacmag primer (?) but neither load has any remarks listed.

Update in 1977 features 30 different loads for 50 grain bullet. I can't list them all.
Most accurate 50 grain load tested was Remington Power-Lokt HP bullet with 23.2 grains N-201 powder in Federal case with Rem 7-1/2 primer. 3,009 fps.

I use to use a LOT of those Sacmag primers... One of my .243's loves them!

Anyway, I also have always loved the .222 Rem... I still have a couple combo guns in 12ga/.222 Rem., also a Rem. 788 in .222 too...

BTW, I have an "autographed" copy of Kens, Pet Loads... Lots of good info in them!

Thanks so much for the help guys! I've got to get a copy of that someday, looks like a lot of good, detailed info.
