Looking at a Kimber LTP II - would appreciate any feedback on that Kimber if you have one - do you think its worth the price over some of the other lower priced Kimbers. Thanks.

I'll go out on a limb here because I have not shot that particular model of Kimber.

But, if I am not mistaken, they sell in the $17-1800 area? I'll assume that if you are willing to spend that much for a 1911, you require a perfect trigger and outstanding accuracy that will last a long time?

I think once you reach that level you might want to look at the other offerings also, like Baer, Wilson, Brown, Springfield makes some custom guns. There are other true custom guns you can have "made" by a one man shop, but they can take a long time and probably cost more.

In the end, if you want a Kimber only, you probably will get more gun for the money if you buy the cheapest Kimber that has the features you want, i.e. adjustable sights, checkering( both expensive to do after the fact) and have a pistolsmith give you high quality trigger job with better componants and have the accuracy adjusted to what you want. That could mean simply a "refit" if needed and a match bushing or bulleyes accuracy with a match bbl.

All that is a long winded and polite way of saying that I think there are much better guns out there above the $800- 1000 range.

Thanks - I will look into Bear and Wilson before I make a decision - if there is a model from either one that you think would be best for Limited 10, and wouldn't mind making a recommendation, let me know. I have a Para .40 but it seems .45's have all the readily available accessories/mags, etc.

Hopefully, others will respond to give you another opinion, since what I might do is not what you would do!

But, if you have a doublestacked 40 which you like, you will be in good company for limited 10. Just add a mag well and some 10 shot mags.

If you want a single stack 45 for limited 10( just because), then I would probably buy the Springfield target loaded and add a mag well or the Trophy Match if you like 20lpi checkering.
Accuracy for limited 10 should be no problem for either gun.

Good luck- there are lot's of choices.

Took your advice and looked into LesBear - understand they are reliable in the extreme (very important to me) - think the Premier 5" might be a good choice. But will also look at base Kimbers, Springfield Loaded and Wilson - Love my .40 but.....I want a .45 (sure I need not explain that one)

Thanks once again.
