I was sorting some range pickup brass for 9mm Luger and found a head stamp that I'm not familiar with.
Has anyone tried LAX brass, what do you think of it?

I tried some LAX brass in 40S&W with Longshot loads which resulted in my best groupings ever with Longshot. I'm not sure if it was the brass making the difference, but I had no issues with the LAX brass.

Not sure where the brass comes from, but I think mine originated from Dudedog. He must have vising your neck of the woods.

That would be nice know.

I would guess one of these companies is the source,
"LAX has gone direct with companies such as Remington, Tula Ammo, Fiocchi, Winchester and Federal/CCI, which allows us to offer our costumers additional savings. We also purchase in huge quantities with distributors of PMC to get the best pricing possible."
Based on case dimensions PMC is very close but the alloy appears different.

LAX used to be a source of remanufactured ammo, loading bullets into cases with various headstamps. I believe they’ve branched out within the past few years and they’ve become retailers of other brands as well.

I used to find it in 9mm, .40, .45, .38, .223 etc in 500 round MTM plastic ammo cans locally. I’ll guess they had Starline or another brass supplier make runs of LAX headstamps for batches of new ammo.

Stay safe!

As LAX and FREEDOM sell some identical reloads,,, and both have their own headstamp,,, their brass source could very well be the same,,,
Unclear how many big name arms companies actually make their own brass anymore. If it's like anything else, a lot of it is outsourced and 'built to spec' by a large company working in the shadows,,,,

You are correct. Same brass.

As of late I have got a hold of some extreme 10mm 9mm Brass.
Reloaded a time or 2 seems soft.
The rim case head are boogered up (technical term) far more the others extractor marks mild bend in rim I mean they work so far.
And they resize far easier then other cases.
My 2 cents
