I built a new AR flattop specifally to use with a scope. I typically shoot between 100 - 300 yards on sunny days. I don't want to spend 2,000.00 like my buddy did on his US Optics. Don't get me wrong I've tried the Zeiss and USO and S&B with the side focus and target turrets etcs, but I just can't spend that kind of cash.

For me a 1" tube is fine. It has to have a parrallax adjustment. I'd like something more than 10 power, like a 14 or 18. I mostly shoot my other AR with iron sights so this would be a fun rifle I use once in a while. It seams like the Mark AR 6-18 AO is the pefect fit but is it worth the money?

If not is there a scope you would recommend up to 1,000.00 based on my needs?

I don't recall how much the 6-18x runs and I haven't used one, but I have the 3-9x40 and it was well worth the price. Brightness and clarity approached Nikon Monarch quality, and it was well made with a nice finish. Not sure that helps you much but maybe this will get some more replies.

I used a Nikon M-223 mount. The Burris PEPR mount is another good option. If you have more $, LaRue makes great quick detach mounts.
