Hey There,

I'm interested in mounting a scope to a Remington 700 bolt action rifle. I'm thinking about getting either a Leupold or Burris scope. I'm trying to figure out what kind of scope rings and mounting base to get.

Does anyone have any experience with Leupold's PRW cross-mount rings (see link below)?

http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-...s-and-accessories/mounting-systems/prw-rings/

Are these rings more likely to hold their zero over time? They look like they might be a little more secure than a traditional scope ring because the top and bottom halves of the scope rings are held in place by four screws instead of two.

Is it worthwhile to buy these type of rings and a Leupold QRW 2-piece scope mount base or should I just stick with the traditional Leupold rings and mounts.

I'd like something pretty durable so that once I mount and zero the scope, I won't have to worry about it working loose over time.

Thanks in advance!

Ive been using the Leupold QRW bases for a while, and think it is a superior set up compaired to the dovetail type mount.

I have not tried the PRW Leupold rings, that is the beauty of the QRW bases they are not propritary, they fit any M1919 Pictanarry or Weaver style rings, Ive been using Burris steel rings.

I did NOT like the QRW rings they unscrewed under recoil(.375 H&H recoil)
