Thanks BDS I appreciate the info. BTW I shot those rounds at 1.166 and they worked fine in my gun but didn't cycle well in my brothers Glock. I'm going to try your seating depth with the same charge and see what the rounds look like in the target.

Re: C.O.L.

FYI: I just opened up a 100 Round Value Pack of Winchester 9mm Luger, 115gr., FMJ and found the c.o.l. on 20 rounds to be 1.1565" to 1.1595" for an average of 1.158"

I purchased these in 2003, so I don’t know what the current loading standards are.

Bulk Winchester 115 gr FMJs have been the reference bullet for 9mm and I have shot a lot of them (several tens of thousands).

Even when using mixed range brass, my reloads using bulk Winchester bullets will have tighter OAL variation than factory white box/value pack ammunition. Keep in mind factory machines will load like 50-80 rounds per minute.

Once I set the dies for 1.135" OAL, most of the rounds will swing within a few thousandths of an inch in variation. This is using Lee carbide dies on Pro 1000 press.

With various plated RN bullets, OAL will vary slightly more.

Lots of great info in this thread!

I just had a re-loader friend of mine hand me 200 rounds of the Winchester 9mm 115FMJ value pack bullets.

Like the OP, I was going to use HS6, but this thread convinced me otherwise

mg, I run HS6 in 124gr FP, thought I had load data, but that was for ZIP under the 115gr.
Don't discount HS6, run it in my 9's, 40's and 45's. It is one of my go to powders and cannot wait to get some chrono results in from it.
I have great luck with it.

HS-6 and AAC#7 are the two very best powders available for the 9mm, IME.

Start low, around 6.7 grains and work up slowly and carefully. It's easy to get good velocity at reasonable pressure.

My HS-6 loads clock 1300-1325 FPS from my Beretta, and the cases can be reloaded 6-8 times. This is the same velocity as my factory +P+ carry load, but with the long case life, it's obviously not +P+ pressure.

AAC 7 was specifically formulated for the 9MM and 124 grain bullets, but works perfectly with 115s..
