Looking for a .40 similar to a CZ P-01

I am looking to buy my first (and probably only for a long time) handgun. This gun is primarily going to be a carry gun, though I do not plan on carrying it everyday (I don't need a pocket gun I can carry with shorts on). I like the CZ P-01 very much, and may just go with that gun, but I like the .40 caliber better. I am going to use this gun at the range, so 9mm might be best. I am looking for a handgun similar to the CZ P-01, but in .40 cal. How is the Zastava EZ9 in .40? Would it work as a carry gun?

If you like 1911's and the ability to have it cocked and locked i would not get the P-06.

I will Probably get the CZ75B compact in .40

With the Compact .40 you can have it cocked and locked!

I hate guns with decockers...

Just out of curiosity, how does the EZ9 rate against the P-01?

I don't really want to carry cocked and locked, I'd much prefer a DA first shot. I like the option of a decocker as well...

Check out the CZ40B at cdnn. $289 for a CZ .40 is pretty had to beat. I have put ~700 rounds of cast reloads, fmj and JHP's w/o a single problem.

What's the deal with the CZ40B? Does it use the same internals as the 75 series? Same mags? I know the grips are different.

Like the looks of the 40B, but know nothing about it.

the CZ40b is discontinued by CZ. It was a joint ventured between CZ and colt to get into the US police market.

The internals are CZ75 and CZ75 compact mags fit. I use 12 round mecgars in mine. The grip frame feels like a 1911 and you can carry it cocked and locked just like a 1911.

In my opinion, you cant find higher quality .40 pistol out there for less $$$!

The CZ 40B looks great (and at a great price). I do ot have a CDNN anywhere near me. Is this gun still somewhat common? Can I still order it?

Try to find a dela on a CZ40P. Lower half including grip is from a P-01. Slide and upper is a little longer and from another CZ -Colt collaboration I think - possibly, and often reported as, the 40B. Great fit and a real bargain. Got mine for around $350. It will be very similar to the P06 but likely cheaper.
