Looking for a 9mm 1911 - Kimber?

If you can wait for a while, page 38 of Colt's 2012 catalog shows "Other projects for TALO in 2012 include: Government Model® in 9mm."

I have had good and bad experience with Kimber 1911s. The Custom IIs were flawless. The "Custom Shop" models, well, I've already made my posts. Search them as you choose.

For my money, I recommend Colt 1911s.

Of course the fact that Colt's aren't on the list in 9mm doesn't stop a bunch of people from recommending them.

The Kimber Stainless II seems to be your only option. Buds has a ParaOrdanance
stainless for 700 dollars, but, they say it's not Kali legal, even though it's on the list, and it's used.

I bought a custom II, then replaced every MIM part I could with Ed Brown's stuff.

You of course may have better luck with the Kimber MIM then I did. The frame, barrel slide, etc. are all in the excellent range, at least my Custom II's where.

I'm in the same boat with the Kali list. I've also been after the "Colt" 1911 in .22lr that isn't on the Kali list.

You might go to Calguns and see if anyone is bringing in other options as single shots.
