Well its my obligation to once again the M&P since I love it but you want something slim so you might look elsewhere. I like the Kel-Tecs but dont own one. Why not look at any of 9mm or .40 1911 flavors.

I like my Kel-Tec PF-9.

The little rail is a good bonus to me, since I'm always borrowing nifty little laser devices from the office where I work, but generally speaking, it probably won't factor into your thought process.

Kel-Tec says it's a 7+1, but the magazine that came with mine can only hold 6, but it feeds all 6 with 100% reliability, so I don't see a problem with it. Haven't purchased any extra magazines yet, but I plan to eventually.

Here is a picture of a P232 on top of a HK P7 to show how compact the P7 really is. It is very slim too. A P7 may fit your needs, very accurate and reliable too.

One of the pistols in the Kahr line may do the trick. All of them are slim and compact.

Here's a comparative picture of some of what IMO are very good CCWs... Walther P99c, HK P2000sk, Kahr K9 and HK P7.
