Hey guys. I intend on doing some gun shopping this weekend at the Valley Forge Gun Show. I was interested in getting a 9mm carbine I can take with me camping, use for home defense and just plink around with. I know that the Beretta storm and Ruger P9 rifle are legal in NJ. I was wondering if you guys have any other suggestions. I was thinking about the kel-tec sub 2000. If you guys know of anything that I havent metioned, please let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, a .357 Magnum levergun is almost exactly 9mm in bore, and it will hit harder than the Ruger or the Beretta. The .357 Mag cartridge loves that extra barrel length. Plinking? Camping? You're covered. Put a red-dot sight on the receiver and you've got a hillbilly tactical carbine. ;)

Also, if my Marlin 1894C is typical, the .357 lever takes the award for pure class. Forged blue steel, good wood, deep checkering, nice comfy butt pad, good fit and finish. Came with sling points, too.

Just another option.

teh suggestions made are viable. You can also build an AR based pistol caliber carbine, but it isn't worth the hassle. hi-point carbine loks like it should pass the legal test.

however, taking it camping in NJ won't fly. it's NJ.

thanks for the info. and I dont camp in NJ lol...after all it is NJ. I go to PA, but I stay outta state parks with any weapons. Thanks for all the ideas.
