Taurus PT1911.
The ejector On the weapon seems to be a little loose side to side when I wiggle it. Is this a normal thing or something to be concerned about? The gun is four years old and when I first bought it and put about 200 rounds through it the ejector broke off and landed at my feet. Sent it to Taurus for warrantee repair and after 2 months I got it back repaired. If I have this problem again can this repair be done myself. as these parts are sold at brownells and other places. Thanks in advance Howie

Not "normal", but common. As long as it doesn't come out and your rounds are ejecting with no issues, just watch it. Not sure how closely the Taurus sticks to real 1911 specs, but if it does, there's no need to keep sending it back to Taurus and be without it for several months. Ejectors are easily repairable/replaceable by owners with a minimum of correct info.

The ejector is pinned into the frame; a little wiggle shouldn't hurt as long as your rounds are ejecting properly. If necessary, replacement is pretty easy but often some fitting/filing on the nose angle is necessary for proper function.

Unfortunately, in my experience, a loose ejector is common in the different value line 1911s. At worst, you may experience erratic ejection. If I were you, I would grab a new ejector and fit it yourself- there are quite a few instructional sites on the internet that will show you how to do it. Good thing is you can't really go wrong fitting a new ejector yourself- ejectors are very inexpensive and if you bugger it up, buy another one and learn from your mistake.
