I've been working on my Sistema. Have detail stripped and installed dropin grip safety, new sear and commander hammer. The pins are loose and fall out while I'm working. What do I do?? nail polish? Lock Tight?? tape until grips go on?? I know dop in isn't pretty but I need it medically. How do I keep pins in place. Have tried new Wilson and Caspian pins. Thanks for your help. Loose Pins

Hi Dale,

Sometimes older pistols have pretty loose hammer and sear pins, and they'll
fall out the left side if the gun is tilted. Look at the pins closely and you'll see that they have a small flange on one end. That flange keeps'em from falling out the right side of the gun unless they're damaged. When the gun is assembled, the thumb safety keeps'em from walking out of the left side. Just remember that the pins are unidirectional...They install from left to right.

When assembling the gun, try to maintain a slight cant toward the right and they'll stay in place...or at least don't let it list to port.

Cheers!
