"MACHINE GUN SAMMY," A PERFECT HALLOWEEN PICK (Brady hates Alito)

Murder is also not federally regulated!

Yeah, you know what Mr. Brady, murder is also not federally regulated, unless there is a federal nexus such as murdering of a federal employee.

So Mr. Alito could also have said, "Murder is not a federal issue." Him saying, "Machineguns are not a federal issue" doesn't say whether he's for or against machineguns or anything else. It's just an observation of the way the 10th amend works.

That said, regulation of murder is left up to the states and they all agree: murder is bad. However, if regulation of MGs were up to the states, there would be a wide variation of MG laws.

One of the few things that I do know is that I don't have the answers. I don't have a solution for everyone. I don't know how people should live. And therefore I don't want to impose my way of life on anyone else. I don't want to tell people in NYC that they are required to have a MG within arms reach 24x7. I think that's how life should be but I wouldn't want to impose that on anyone. And all I ask of them is that they handle me in the same way. Leave it to the states.

Mr. Alito seems to understand that that's the way our system used to work and is supposed to work.

The big hope is for an unexpected liberal vacancy in the next year or so.
Well, yeah, but that amounts to hoping for a severe downturn in the health of a Justice. Kinda creepy.

I wonder if Alito has considered the fact that he's not allowed to retire. Sure, he can do it any time he wants, but they are basically expected to serve until they drop dead on the way in to work one day.

It had to be a Supreme Court pick that favors legal machine guns.

Wait... don't we already ahve legal machineguns? Didn't the AWB sunset flood America with Uzis and AK-47s? What's all the fuss about, then?
