Hey, it's hunting related, so it involves guns....

'Mad cow' becomes main course

The mayor of Skaun put out a contract on an ill-tempered heifer after it left him hospitalized. Jon P. Husby's hunt committee found and shot the angry cow on Monday, in time for the mayor's 50th birthday, where Husby and friends will have their final revenge, newspaper Soer-Troendelag reports.

"I was afraid it could hurt others. So I asked my hunting buddies to go after it," Husby told the newspaper from his hospital bed. "I assume that the heifer will be the main course when I have my 50th birthday party."

Tor Skaseth was spokesman for the mayor's heifer hit squad and described their quarry as a fearsome animal that took over a day to track down.

"It was a huge beast with sharp horns. And it was a bit wicked, as we can see. But really, even if Jon was seriously injured we can call him lucky. It could have killed him in the dark that night," Skaseth said.

The cow had been on the loose since it ran into the mayor in a field and attacked, apparently in fright. Husby was left with two broken bones and a torn ligament, and had a long and painful trip home to get help.

The mayor won't be able to walk for about eight weeks, and has no idea when he will be able to return to work.

hmmm.... A cow, a field, dark night... Was the mayor engaged in cow-tipping?

...and it had big, sharp pointy teeth!

The Mayor and the cow

By any chance, was the mayor carrying a step stool with him? Or
perchance, looking for a stump to stand on? I offer these remarks
in (non) support of PETA....;)
