A good friend and his Grandad(85)go squirrel hunting.Grandad takes his Dad's Mod.19S Marlin which is still in very good shape. No shots are fired by Grandad and the hunt is over . Back at the truck Grandad can't remember how to unload the shotgun and no one else has been around this model before much less used it. Grandson brings the shotgun over and explains the situation. The magazine is emptied easy enough but I can't seem to figure out how to open the action to remove the live shell in the chamber. Any help or a copy of a full schematic would be most appreciated.

If it is a exsposed hammer Marlin shotgun over at Marlin Collectors Association web site they have a pretty good thread about this. BTW it is recommended that exsposed hammer Marlin shotguns not be fired as the pin holding the bolt in might break and fly in the face. Use only low brass ammo it you have it checked and want to shoot it. :)
