The TSRA Mid-Range Cahmpionships are NEXT weekend. I don't think I will be finished with a big photoshoot so I will probably miss it. Today, in case I do make it, I zeroed my new match rifle with 80 grain Sierra Matchkings.

Rifle is an AR spacegun. Douglas 1/7.7 26 inch stainless barrel, Centra rear sight and a Riles front ladder. I've got a half diopter magnification in the front.

Conditions were sunny with no wind so I started off on the bench at 200 yards shooting three shot groups. When I got in the Xring i went prone with my jacket, new sling and mat. The zero moved to the edge of the ten and nine ring at seven oclock. I dialed it back in and really worked on shooting my natural point of aim and breaking good shots. The last ten were 100X8, and the two that were out of the Xring were very close. The midrange starts at 300, then 500, then 600. I don't have zeros for those distances but I do have data and two sighters. Hope I get to go shoot.

Finished by firing my glove compartment gun, a really worn 1961 Browning Highpower 9mm in the pistol pit. It shoots pretty well -tends right at 25 yards and now and then it will lock open and empty....with one round left on top of the mag. I bought it for a couple hundred so it lives in the truck.

Lots of fresh .45 brass in the pistol pit. You could bait a trap with .45 brass and catch me three times a week. I got nearly all of it.

Nice day to be out shooting even just the 30 rounds out of the un-named match rifle and 50 rounds out of the truck pistol.

I call that some pretty damn good shooting! The match rifle needs a name. And last time I checked, a good/bad day shootin is still better than any day at the office. Hopefully you can get the photo shoot done in time for you to go shoot the next match.

-Did someone say 'photo shoot'? Sexy gurls?

Girls'n guns go well. Dillon Precision has been doing that successfully for q-u-i-t-e a while.

-Steve
