Mauser Scout Scope Mount

I have a small ring Mauser (Spanish 1916) to which I wish to attach a scout scope mount using the existing rear sight base. Could a Mosin scout mount be used??
I will probably end up using a mount for a AR-15 carry handle, milling the sides so it will fit and pinning it in place.

Have you checked out the S&K scope scout mount? I have two (98K and M/N 91/30) and they are rock solid. The big thing for me is that I can put both rifles back in their stock configuration in ~10 minutes.
