I've been grabbing ten rounders. They're going to go sky high if another AWB is enacted.
Umm, why do you think this?
If a new ban comes to be, it will most likely be similar to the last one, in which ten round magazines were
not banned.
Even if a new ban were enacted and limited capcity to five, if it had a grandfather provision for pre-ban mags, the standard 30 roudners will be much more sought after.
The simple reality is that there were a lot of pre-ban mags and firearms available during the first ban, and the number out there today is exponentially higher. I came of age in the midst of AWB I, and had
no trouble getting 15 round Beretta mags and 20, 30, 40 round mags for 5.56mm rifles.
If a new ban is enacted and prohibits
production of "high capacity magazines" after the enacted date, well, there are literally tens of millions of such magazines in circulation, so it will be meaningless.
If a new ban is enacted and prohibits
possession of high capacity magazines, it would make tens of millions of people criminals overnight. That would be exceedingly unpopular.
Even the anti's recognize that the current number of firearms and magazines in circulation render any kind of ban absolutely toothless. They still clamor on, though.
