Not in the same league, but I took my neighbor out to the range this weekend, he had a good time with the 22lr semiauto, but you guys would have loved the sh*t-eating grin on his face as he was loading up the 9mm mags after that.

You sir are a gentlemen.:)

While I have helped some newbies when I can (being patient and keeping it simple is #1), I have never gone to the lengths you did. You went the extra mile and I applaud you for it.

Bravo.

A hale and hearty HUZZAH to you, duckfoot! Well Met! I am humbled and yet uplifted by your most generous actions. You have indeed gone above and beyond the call of duty in assisting yon fair madien. You and your gunsmith friend are to be commended for your gallantry in promoting the RKBA and assisting her with her choice to avoid victimhood.

You did get her #, right? To set up future range sessions, of course.:D

Good job Duckfoot!

Now, I'm assuming you did get her phone number to set up the trip to the skeet range. If you didn't, shame on you.

Frank

Good for you!

At work, I have been "outed" as a shooter ("Going to a class over the weekend, and cell phone will be out of range." "What class?" "Self defense." "Karate?" "No, pistol." Ah, well...) The load-mouth (former, thank Heaven) boss thought that was very amusing and broadcasted to the planet...

Anyway, since the word got out, I have had several people come up to me seeking advice. My response was, and always will be: Get Training!

It's a sad commentary that none of the "confessed" gun owners have done so. I have the impression that they believe that the mere fact of owning a gun grants them some special protection. It seems that they believe that they have a special "talisman." The saddest comment yet was along the lines of "Yeah, I have a gun, but I have never taken the ammo out of the box."

So, when the bad guy shows up at your door or climbs through the window, what is your response going to be? "Oh, wait, Mr, BG, please don't do anything until I can get to the ammo and load up..." (Not that this man would know what to do once he managed to load the gun...)

Sigh...

Anything we can do to promote safety and training is critical.

Andrea
