Mil Dot question...

Mav, I know you like the PRH and I'm still waiting on a range report. You've got some magazines now so it should be any day right?
Will probably be doing a little shooting this weekend and will update with the results...now that I have it I haven't had the time to shoot it much. :banghead: I can say that I love the "click, click, clunk" feature at every mil...makes it really easy to zero it without looking...always had trouble counting. ;)

If you give me a few pointers I will take a few photos through the scope (that'd make a nice thread topic...hint, hint ;)). Every time I try it looks horrible, but it may be my cheap Cannon. :)

I'm not a camera expert, but a small aperture will most likely give you the best results when trying to capture a clear image through the scope. A small aperture results in a longer depth of field giving you a better chance of having the reticle and whatever you're looking at in focus. You'll have to play with the shutter speed and a tripod really helps. I used my spotting scope tripod.

:)

1858, honestly i'm not crazy about the FFP disappearing reticle for hunting purposes. But i do like ballistic reticles that provide for better windage reference like Leup. VH, Zeiss Rapid-Z and Rapid Reticles. Wish i could afford the BIG optics like u guys talk about--maybe someday.

I'm really fascinated by reticle math for any purpose. Even improvising the concepts in the field have proven to be useful.
