I had a model 10 Remington repaired a long time ago, and it doesn't seem to correctly chamber rounds any more. The part of the sporting arm that broke was the extractor spring (i think that is what it is called) -- a long spring that is above the actual extractor -- rivited to the receiver. the original one, well the one that was on the shotgun when I got it from my dad, was long and thing (about a 1/4 inch wide), and had a hook on the end. this hood looked just like the actual extractor, and it didn't seem to have a whole lot of sping tension on it. The one that was replaced in it, is short and "s" shaped, and has a lot more tension. Now it is very difficult ot chamber a round.
Since this is a very old gun, it is REAL hard to find a local gunsmith that knows what the part should look like. Anyone know where I can get a diagram of this spring, or better yet, get one?
